Chilli Paneer is a very popular Indo-Chinese recipe .It is a very delicious and mouth-watering paneer dish.


Paneer cubes-2 cups
Bell pepper-1(Cut into cubes)
Onions-2(Cut into slices)
Green chili-4(cut into vertically)
Finely chopped ginger-1 tbsp
Finely chopped garlic-1 tbsp
Soy sauce-1 tbsp
Vinegar-1/2 tbsp
Red chilli sauce-1 tbsp
Tomato ketchup-1 tbsp
Freshly ground Pepper-1/4 tsp
Ajinomoto-2 pinch(optional)
Oil-2 tbsp
Salt to taste


Gram flour or All purpose flour-1/4 cup(I used gram flour and believe me friends it gave a delicious flavor to chili paneer)
Corn flour-3 tbsp
Ginger-garlic paste-1 tsp
Pepper powder-1/4 tsp
Chili powder-1/4 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil for deep fry


1-In a bowl mix gram flour(all purpose flour),corn flour,ginger-garlic paste,pepper powder,chili powder,salt and water to make a thick coating batter(not too thick and not too thin).Marinade the paneer cubes in the batter and keep aside for 10-12 mints.
2-Heat oil in a pan for deep frying.When the oil is hot add the marinade paneer cubes and deep fry until they turn light golden brown in color(don't overload the pan).Drain the paneer pieces on to a kitchen towel.Keep aside rest of the marinade batter.
3-Heat oil in a pan and add chopped ginger,garlic and fry until light brown in color.Add onions,green chillies and capsicum.Cook until the onions turn transparent or for 2-3 mins.
4-Reduce the flame and add soy sauce,vinegar,tomato ketchup,red chili sauce,ajinomoto,salt and pepper.Mix all the sauces properly on low flame for a minute.
5-Add the fried paneer pieces and the remaining batter and stir fry on medium heat for 3-4 minutes until the sauce comes around and thickens due to the batter.
6-Serve it hot with noodles,fried rice,roti,paratha or naan.
(Remember that all the sauces contain salts,first taste then add salt)
