Caramel custard is a rich and delicious custard dessert.It is a very easy to make and is usually served in custard cups.It is also known as flan or crème caramel. The place of origin of caramel custard is France.The ingredients required to make caramel crème include whole milk, eggs,water, vanilla sugar, vanilla bean and sugar.It may be served cold or warm but it tastes best when served cold.It is an excellent dessert that is liked by people of all ages.
Sugar-2 tbsp for caramelizing
Vanilla Essence-2 tsp
1-Take 2 table spoons of sugar in a frying pan and caramelize it on a low flame by constantly stirring.
2-Once the sugar turns light brown in color,switch off the flame and immediately take the frying pan off the stove.
3-And pour the entire caramel into another container.
4-In a separate bowl,beat 3 eggs,milk,vanilla essence and sugar and mix the contents well.
5-Now,pour over caramelized sugar.
6-If you are pressure cooking it,carefully select the water level at the bottom of the pressure cooker.
7-Do not put more than 200-250 ml of water and allow the custard to cook in the steam.
8-Do not put the weight on the pressure cooker.Cook it for 15-20 minutes.
9-If you want to bake then Place the container in 1/2" water in baking pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes or until set,Cool.
10-Loosen sides of custard from container with a butter knife.
11-Place upside down on plate and serve warm or chilled.
